The food was very good. It is not a restaurant just a screen we get up get your food and leave. Is about 20 minutes off the highway but worth the wait.

It's a little bit out of the way but wanted to give Chuck's Barbecue and Grill a try. One of the inmates I work with lived right down the road from it and gave it rave reviews. It's probably about 5 miles north of the intersection of NC 115 and I-40, Exit 150 in a small, basically one room shed. There is a covered porch in front that you walk up to a window and place your order and wait.
Staff could not be nicer. The gentleman at the front did ask that I speak up because he was hard of hearing but at least that made two of us.
Menu consists of a variety of short order sandwiches on the left menu board and a number of plates on the right board. From the name, I would have expected more Barbecue items than there were so I opted for the more common burgers and fries.
Ordered two Cheeseburgers with lettuce, tomato and onions and French Fries along with iced tea. Took about 10 minutes which was reasonable and they came out pipping hot. The gentleman behind the counter kept refilling my iced tea the whole time.
Took this back to the office and they were still hot and delicious. Excellent burgers and bigger than I expected so next time, I'm only going to order one.
Out of the way but if you're in the area, worth you time to give them a try. -

Had awesome BBQ here last Saturday. Very tasty and fresh. Only gave four stars as the hotdog was all right...but the bbq was tops and French fries were good, too.

I really don't have a lot to say about this place, other than it's THE BEST!! Best hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches around! Their fries are also thick and amazing!
